So Googley!

IT HAPPENED!!!!

Today was beyond exciting!  I've been working on and off towards this for the past year almost. I use all things Google on a regular basis and this truly deepened my knowledge.  I feel so much more confident and I learned about programs in G Suite that I didn't know about or how to use before.  If you're an educator, I cannot recommend doing this enough!  It takes time and practice, but it is so completely worth all of the time and effort.  I'm looking forward to giving myself a little break and then jumping back in for level 2.  I'm also planning exciting things for this school year using my new Google knowledge!
Completing this has encouraged me to reflect on deadlines.  I gave myself the deadline of last summer to complete this and clearly, that didn't happen!  I needed more time and more practice to reach this goal.  We often give our students these hard deadlines as well.  There are times when they clearly need more time, more resources, and more practice, just like I did with this certification.  Although I want to prepare them for the real world, where deadlines are not always flexible, I do want to allow some wiggle room this year.  I only reached my full potential with this because I was flexible with my learning and practice.  Shouldn't the students be encouraged to reach theirs as well, even if it means fudging a few deadlines?

Cricut + Flair Pens = LOVE

Could there be a better post title!? I will absolutely admit, I am obsessed with both my Cricut and my flair pens! I haven't been super creative lately, however, was inspired after visiting my classroom today.  Not that my classroom is in any way inspiring at this moment!  I have no bulletin boards, no decor, haven't spray painted a single thing, and the list goes on and on.  I did, however, organize and clean. *Cue angelic chorus in the background*  It is so neat and tidy in B122 that I almost couldn't believe it!  Having a clear, clean space always gets my creative juices flowing, so I decided as I eat my shells and cheddar (#fitnessgoals) I should celebrate my hard work today!  I got so excited while unpacking my brand new flair pens, I knew that's what I needed to celebrate.  Is there anything like a fresh flair pen? I created the design below fairly quickly in Circuit's Design Space and cannot wait to cut it out and get it onto a shirt! My crafty mama just bought a heat press, so you all know where I'll be this weekend!  If anyone is interested in using Cricut Design Software or has any questions, comment below or feel free to e-mail me!  It's pretty user-friendly and there are a lot of great tutorials online already! Or, if you're thinking, "I don't feel like making my own flair pen celebration shirt Meghan, just let me download that .png", then I can do that for you too!  I'm going to upload the .png file to my TPT this weekend as a *freebie* ☺ for reading through this blog post! So whether you have a Cricut or a Silhouette, you'll be able to cut it out!  <3-Meg

The First Post

Hey everyone!  I've been working diligently on this blog and am so happy to finally be on the road to publishing!  As tech savvy as I consider myself, I forgot how finicky creating a blog can be!  Luckily, 'the cutest blog on the block' hooked it up with an adorable banner and background which helped to get the ball rolling!  She has a ton of cute blog templates/backgrounds/banners/buttons/etc. on her site that are all.... FREE!  On this lovely, little blog however, I intend to write about all things school!  I love creating posters, centers, sheets, presentations, etc.  I also love creating physical items with my Cricut Explore Air 2.  I'll be uploading all the items I make onto the blog with narrative and will add any items to my TPT store for you to download.  I'm toying around with the idea of an Etsy store for physical items like signs, shirts, and vinyl decals, but we'll see!  After 7 years of teaching in various grade levels, I'm heading to fourth and I intend to share my journey with you!  Subscribe and don't miss a post and be sure to check out my new Instagram (link on side --->)  <3 Meg
